10 broken records and the ‘highest ever standard’ at 23rd
No less than 10 course records tumbled in the finals at this weekend’s Henley Women’s Regatta, and two were equalled – a result of a strong but manageable tailwind throughout the three day event, and what chairman Diane Graham described as ‘the best ever standard in the event’s 23 year history’.

Regatta launches 2012 appeal for money and memories
An appeal to raise £20,012 by 2012 is being launched this year at the 23rd Henley Women’s Regatta (18th-20th June). The funds will be used to lay on a unique celebration around the 25th regatta, with donors being consulted about how they would like the funds spent.

GB scullers and a large overseas presence on the cards
Both quantity and quality are the themes of the 23rd Henley Women’s Regatta (HWR) which takes place on 18th-20th June this year. While a record-breaking eight events will need to undergo qualification rounds on the Friday morning to bring numbers down, entries also feature some well-known names from the GB squad plus an increase in crews coming to race from outside the UK, many having secured national championship titles in their own countries.

Congratulations to the W8+ bronze medalists from the Belgian Championships held on 8 May - French crew Regates Remoises, the W4- bronze medalists Commercial Rowing Club from Dublin, and the W4x winners Gentse from Ghent in Belgium. Top firms support expansion of women’s premier rowing event
Henley Women’s Regatta, the world’s biggest women-only rowing regatta, has confirmed that renewed support from UK fund management company Invesco Perpetual and management consultants PricewaterhouseCoopers will make separate events for academic and club crews a permanent fixture, starting this year. Their support has also made the addition of new junior classes possible for 2010.
