The weather is going to be VERY HOT for HWR 2025 with forecast temperatures over 30°C/86°F. This page sets out how competitors can use facilities available at the regatta to keep as cool as possible.
Stay hydrated
Drinking water standpipes are located throughout the HWR site – in the car and trailer park, in the Spectator Zone, and in the Competior Zone. The locations of the water taps in the Competitor Zone are shown as blue drops on the map below.
‘Slip, slap, slop’
This well-known Australian phrase sensibly advises everyone to:
- Slip on a shirt
- Slap on a hat
- Slop on the suncream.
Stay out of the sun between races
Competitors can find shade:
- In the large shelter behind Registration in the Competotor Zone (new for this year)
- Under the trees in the Competotitor Zone
- Under your own gazebo:
- We have added extra prime location gazebo pitches to the Spectator Zone (booking required >>)
- Additional gazebos can be pitched right at the back of Temple Island Meadows (no booking or pitch fee) where they will be safely clear of trailer traffic – see map below.
Please do NOT erect gazebos in the car park or trailer parking area.
