Reigning Olympic champion Lauren Henry will be the prizegiver at Henley Women’s Regatta 2026, seven years after her own triumph on the celebrated course.
Henry, who won gold in the women’s quadruple sculls at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and last year won gold at the European Rowing Championships and silver at the World Rowing Championships in the women’s single sculls, will hand out the HWR trophies on Sunday 21 June.
Before joining the Great Britain rowing team, Henry raced twice at HWR, representing Leicester Rowing Club. As a 16-year-old she reached the semi-finals of the Di Ellis Trophy for junior single sculls in 2018, and the following year won the Rosie Mayglothling Trophy for aspirational double sculls with Olivia Morgan of Shiplake College.
Henry said the 2019 win was the highlight of her junior career, adding: “You get the sense at Henley Women’s that everyone there on the bank and the water loves rowing and loves celebrating women’s rowing and is there for the rowing, which is really special.”
This season, Henry is again representing Great Britain in the women’s single sculls, but has made time to celebrate the HWR 2026 champions in between racing at World Rowing Cups in Seville and Lucerne as she prepares for the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam in August.
Henry has already secured one win this season, claiming a superb gold medal in a thrilling race at World Rowing Cup I in Seville last weekend.
HWR prizegiving takes place after the close of racing on Sunday 21 June in the spectator zone, situated between Temple Island and Remenham Farm.
