About HWR
Our Future

Henley Women’s Regatta is the premier regatta for women in the United Kingdom. Each year more than 2,000 rowers and coxes – at junior, university, club and international levels and from all over the UK and beyond – come to compete on this iconic stretch of the River Thames.
Henley Women’s Regatta is a key target for many crews and scullers each season. Some will be aiming to qualify and see how far they can progress, while others will have realistic aspirations of winning.
Over 77% of the women in the GB Rowing Team at the Olympic Games in 2024 had won at HWR earlier in their career.
In the video below, Olympic silver medallist cox and HWR Ambassador Zoe de Toledo explains why HWR is so popular.
Our strategic plan
Henley Women’s Regatta’s purpose is to be a beacon for women’s rowing across the globe. Our mission is to provide the world’s most inspirational racing arena for women’s rowing.
To achieve this, the regatta is continuing to evolve in response to new opportunities and ideas as well as emerging challenges. We developed our current strategic plan in 2024 to shape our development over the coming years.
